Q: What are you currently working on?

We are working on our new collection which will have all our trade mark qualities of simplicity and sweetness. It will also have elements of vintage jewellery, but with a modern twist.

Q: How have the last 12 months been for you?

Pretty good. We launched two new collections -- Flock and Sweet Dreams.

Especially Sweet Dreams has been very popular. Apart from that we have been in Grazia, Easy Living and Red with our Sparrow collection which was great publicity. We also have made a variety of bespoke pieces, everything from a green sapphire engagement ring to a skull collar pin.

Q: What does fashion mean to you?

We like fashion, but are no slaves to it. If we like a certain trend, we might draw inspiration from it, but really we want our jewellery to last a life time rather than just a season.

Q: Which modern day fashion designers or fashion icons do you look up to?

Hussein Chalayan, Stella McCartney, Solange Azagury-Partridge, Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi (Preen).

Q: What was the first thing you ever designed?

A silver brooch for my Mum.

Q: Where do you get your inspiration?

We are inspired by wildlife, art and anything sweet and funny.

Q: How would you define the style your work exemplifies?

Simply sweet with lots of personality.

Q: How would you define your personal style?

I like things to be practical and quite simple. I don’t usually have much time to dress up nicely, put make-up on etc. We are always in a rush in the mornings, getting our daughter ready and making our way into London to our workshop. So unless we have any meetings, I usually just wear black jeans and a comfy top.

Q: Where are you based?

In Holborn, central London

Q: What’s it like being where you’re from?

London is very inspiring, with lots of interesting people. I like people watching, especially in East London.

Q: How would you define your city’s fashion?

It’s very diverse. After having lived in East London for years, we have just moved to the south-west.  I would say east London is full of young people in quirky colourful charity shop finds and west London is more yummy mummies in Boden knitwear.

Q: What are you hoping to achieve over the next 12 months?

Launching two new collections, move to a bigger studio, finding new stockists and just growing our brand in general.

Q: What do you do to relax?

Relaxing doesn’t come easy to me. I love going for walks with my husband and daughter (ideally somewhere at the sea) and I also enjoy watching movies and visiting art galleries. I especially like the National Portrait Gallery and am very much looking forward to seeing Lucian Freud’s paintings there soon.

Q: Where would your favourite holiday (vacation) be and why?

We’d love to do a family road trip across the US. Not sure when we’ll be able to take that much time off though. Hopefully in the next 3 or 4 years. Until then we stick to Devon and Germany.
