Vojko Jeric is a professional photographer who is originally from Slovenia but is currently living and working in London. Vojko is a photographer who likes to experiment with colour and emotions with his photography and we were happy when he agreed to complete an interview with Urbanity Chic. Read on to find out about what inspires Vojko, where he most enjoys shooting and what fashion means to him.

Q: How did you get into professional photography?
I just decided that photography is going to be my life and so I worked hard to get to this point.
Q: What do you enjoy most photographing?
I like to take pictures of people. I find people to be very interesting as we are all unique in our own ways.
Q: How has the last 12 months been for you?
My last 12 month’ experience have been very exciting by trying to get my photography experience working in London.
Q: What inspires you?
I am inspired by daylight.

Q: What makes a good photographer in your opinion?
Well it is a hell of the question, but I think is every days frustration plus creativity and the way you deal with both of them.
Q: Do you prefer using film cameras or digital?
I prefer digital camera because is more ecological and easy to use.
Q: Do you prefer to shoot on location or in the studio?
I like to shoot in studio but shooting on location is much more creative.

Q: Do you have any interesting stories about a particular photo shoot you’d like to share?
Every photo shoot has an interesting story behind it.
Q: Do you have a specific style of photography that makes you unique?
A photographer must always try to be unique, because not being unique is a sign of weakness.
Q: Do you have a favourite photograph?
My favorite photos are from the series Black Betty. It’s about antiheroes and fallen angels.

Q: Who is your favourite photographer?
There are many photographers I admire and the one that pops out is Irwin Olaf.
Q: What does fashion mean to you?
Fashion is a way of expression.
Q: How would you define your personal style?
I would define my style as a form without shape. It is something I would like to express … something that’s add another dimension to the 2D photo.
Q: Where are you based?
I am based in London.
Q: What’s been the highlight of your career to date?
The highlight of my career so far has been moving to London to work as a professional photographer.

Q: What do you do to relax?
I meditate and hike.
Q: Where would your favourite holiday (vacation) be and why?
I would like to follow the antique Silk Road to get an impression of how it was for merchants centuries ago when they were trying to bring silk to Europe.
Q: What songs are on your iPod at the moment?
I don’t have an iPod, but I like Indie music.
Q: Do you have any interesting hobbies?
I like to pick-up mushrooms.
Q: If you could give a little piece of advice for aspiring photographers what would it be?
Work hard, observe yourself and your surrounding and express your imagination.
Q: What motivates you to do what you do?
My main motivation is to be what I am, so a photographer and an artist.
