Tre Ford is a fashion stylist from New York. His work has graced famous publications such as Elle, Zink and Boulevard. When we checked out Tre’s latest fashion feature in Harpers Bazaar we were really keen to interview him so that we could share some of his experiences and thoughts with you. Read the full interview below to find out what materials he most likes working with, which modern day fashion icons he is inspired by and what he does to relax when not working.

Q. What are you currently working on?
I’m in the process of shooting a television pilot for an upcoming style and entertainment show.
Q. How has the last 12 months been for you?
Like a never ending roller coaster to say the least…. 😉
Q. What does fashion mean to you?
Fashion is a word that encompasses so much depth and passion in my life.
Q. Which modern day fashion designers or fashion icons do you look to?
I love the Designer duo Dean and Dan Caten of Dsquared2, “DIOR”, “COMME DES GARCONS”, and “GUCCI”. P.S. “Daphne Guinness” always “CAUSES MY DEATH”.

Q. Where do you get your inspiration?
The planet as a whole is my biggest inspiration.
Q. Who inspires you?
Anyone and everyone who has ever fought to get something that others didn’t deem a possibility.
Q. How would you define the style your work exemplifies?
“GLAMOROUS” “POWERFUL” “SIGNATURE” “UNDENIABLY ME”
Q. What are you favorite colors and materials to work with and why?
I love to work with “PINKS” “WHITES” “FUCHSIAS” and “BLACKS” I love chiffon and leather…. because all of these shows how soft and commanding a woman can look and feel.
Q. How you define your personal style?
“INCREDIBLY CLEVER”
Q. Where are you based?
New York City.

Q. What’s it like being where you’re from?
Hmmmmmm…… Extraordinarily competitive in a good way because, it brings out the beast in the overall strength of your image and it creates an amazing ambiance that will inevitably become the driving force in determining how incredible you will become. Which is an amazing advantage.
Q. How would you define your city’s fashion?
“Mysteriously beautiful”
Q. What’s been the highlight of your career to date?
Styling a fashion editorial for “HARPER’S BAZAAR VIETNAM”.

Q. What are you hoping to achieve over the next 12 months?
A flourishing career that takes me all over the world.
Q. What do you to relax?
Listen to music….. and watch fashion videos.
Q.Where would your favorite holiday vacation be and why?
Paris, simply because it’s one of my biggest inspirations.

Q. What songs are on your ipod at the moment?
Wale- The Power, Vanity 6- Make Up, and M.I.A- Steppin Up’. Just to name a few.
Q. Do you have interesting hobbies?
Well, I love to make up fashion inspired raps……
Q. What motivates you to do what you do?
My Mother.
