Q: How did you get into professional photography?
When I was studying art & design, I wanted to get into photography but I never got round to it until much later.
I qualified as a professional hair and makeup artist in 2006 and I worked on photoshoots with professional photographers for a while doing the hair and makeup , but this still did not fulfill my creative need. I wanted to be more hands on and develop as an artist.
In 2008 I finely started to learn digital photography and now I am a professional photographer… but I am always learning .
Q: What do you enjoy most photographing?
I love photographing people but, as a photographer, I am interested by everything around me !
Q: How was 2010 for you?
I started working as a freelance photographer in 2010 and I feel really blessed that I am able to combine my skills as an artist and as a professional hair and makeup artist along with my styling together with photography. This is where I belong!
Q: Who inspires you?
I am inspired by everything! People, emotion, fashion, colours, nature, creativity, mind, imagination. The list goes on and on .
Q: Which modern day fashion designers or fashion icons do you look up to?
Too many to mention but I will mention a few , Alexander McQueen, Vivien Westwood and Dolce Gabbana to name a few .
Q: What makes a good photographer in your opinion?
Well I think a good photographer needs to be very open minded, have a very good eye and be very adaptable to any situation. Also they need to be a very good communicator .
Q: Do you prefer using film cameras or digital?
I use digital .
Q: Do you prefer to shoot on location or in the studio?
I like to do both .
Q: Do you have a specific style of photography that makes you unique?
I think my uniqueness is in my ability to see my photography as art as well as my creative input as an artist and stylist. Also having a creative vision.
Q: Do you have a favourite photograph?
No, my favourite photograph is still to be shot.
Q: Who is your favourite photographer?
Hard question to answer. There are a few, but there is one photographer who’s work I feel is so amazing that I am completely inspired every time I look at his work and that photographer is Alexey Titarenko.
Q: Is there anybody you would like to work with (either behind or in front of the camera)?
Yes it would be a dream to photograph Victoria Beckham .
Q: What does fashion mean to you?
Fashion means excitement and energy.
Q: How would you define your personal style?
Relaxed as I get older .
Q: Where are you based?
I am based in the UK, in Birmingham .
Q: What are you hoping to achieve in the coming 12 months?
From now and into next year I would like to get Editorial work, would love to shoot for British Vogue and do ad Campaigns for designers (of course this is my dream!) and this is the type of work where my full potential and creativity would be most suited too…. and I need an Agent!
Q: What do you do to relax?
Listen to Music .
Q: If you could give a little piece of advice for aspiring photographers what would it be?
Do not be afraid to experiment .
Q: What motivates you to do what you do?
I’m motivated by my creative mind, wanting to bring my vision to life and my passion to create new and inspiring images!
