Kinga Boguslawska is an upcoming fashion model who has recently moved from Poland to London. Despite Kinga’s increasingly hectic schedule as she recently completed a full in-depth feature interview for Urbanity Chic. Read on to find out, amongst other things, how Kinga got into fashion modeling, who her favourite photographer is and what she does to relax when not working.

Q: How did you get into fashion modeling?
It was a dream of mine to have some beautiful pictures taken. Then an aspiring photographer moved into my house and took some pictures of me. I enjoyed the shoot so much and I decided that I would love to do this as living.
Q: How was 2010 for you?
2010 was an extremely exciting year for me as I have experienced something new and completely different. I was employed to do my fist photoshoot and started to attend castings. The photoshoots were tremendously exciting but also very nerve racking. This was the first time in my life I had 8 sets of eyes completely focused on me and the way I expressed myself and I fell in love with it and got completely addicted.
So all in all 2010 was the beginning of my modeling journey.
Q: Who inspires you?
As a model.. Anja Rubik. Personally I think she is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. Every one of her photographs she has the ability to become any character she desires and look so unbelievably different in every one. This is to me what a fashion model can only dream to achieve.
Q: Which modern day fashion designers or fashion icons do you look up to?
Fashion designer would be Nanette Lepore. I have been working for her in her only Europe based shop for over 2 years. I find her clothes are very sophisticated and feminine. Her unique dresses have a supreme fit. My wardrobe is filled with her amazing pieces not only because I work there but because of how fantastic they are. Wherever I am when I have one of Nanette’s dresses on I always have compliments.

Q: Do you prefer to shoot on location or in the studio?
I enjoyed both as it is all part of what I love doing. I find location is more challenging and there is nothing I enjoy more than a thrilling challenge especially if its somewhere new and exciting.
Q: Do you have any interesting stories about a particular photo shoot, or a casting you’d like to share?
I recently had the amazing opportunity to be involved in Olly Murs music video for his single “Busy”. I had to attend beautiful old mansion which had been kept in its original 70’s décor. I also had a pleasure to met Olly, who was adorable!! The cast and crew were so fantastically professional and I had the most fun. Amazingly of all I become very good friends with some of the people I met on set. All in all a very memorable day!
Q: How do you prepare for a fashion shoot or show?
I always find that a good night sleep is a must especially to make sure your energy levels are as they should be. I try to drink a lot of water to hydrate my skin but most importantly of all I research the shoot and where it is being held.
Q: Do you have a favourite photograph?
I don’t. There are so many beautiful pictures. It would be impossible for me to choose just one.
Q: Who is your favourite photographer?
My favourite photographer is Marcin Tyszka. He is very talented, experimental and extremely creative. I absolutely love every single picture of his.

Q: Is there anybody you would like to work with?
I would absolutely love to work with Hans Feur. I think he is a fantastic photographer and all of his pictures are unbelievable amazing.
Q: What does fashion mean to you?
Fashion lets me be who I want to be and allows me to express my individuality. It is my passion and hobby as I can spend hours creating new exciting outfits.
Q: How would you define your personal style?
My style is a very feminine look. I enjoy wearing beautifully tailored dresses that express my femininity, obviously not forgetting a killer pair of heels.
Q: Where are you based?
I am currently living in West London
Q: What’s it like being where you’re from?
I come from a very small city in Poland and I am definitely not a stereotypical small town girl. Hence my move to the big city. The town I come from is very clicky and everyone knows everyone. Opportunity are very hard to come by so I am very grateful for what I have achieved so far. I feel very lucky.

Q: What’s been the highlight of your career to date?
I had a personal invitation to a casting to be part of global charity event and work as a model for Jasper Garvida. Fingers crossed it has gone successfully as even the casting was a fantastic opportunity and experience.
Q: What are you hoping to achieve in 2011?
I realized that modeling is where I want to be and what I want to focus on this year. It fulfils my life under a personal and professional point of view. I want to get signed up with a reputable and well know agency that can get me great and exciting jobs. I would also love to be able to get more experience in the field working along with different type of photographers and build a more creative and exciting portfolio.
Q: What do you do to relax?
I love a good work out at the gym. It makes me relax and have some time out. I enjoy nothing more than meeting with friends and doing the normal girlies things e.g. dinner, cinema, drinks.. etc.

Q: Do you have interesting hobbies?
I would say my main hobby is shopping. What women’s hobby isn’t!!! I love collecting funky, different jewellery including unusual big chunky rings.
Q: If you could give a little piece of advice for new or aspiring models what would it be?
Follow your dream and never give up even if it’s hard. Always listen and take all criticism on board.
Q: What motivates you to do what you do?
Plain and simple, It’s my passion and I love everything about the fashion industry. I always want to achieve more as there is always something bigger to achieve.
Q: Is there anything else you’d like to let our readers know about?
My hard work and dedication will officially pay off so if you are seriously want to get into the industry work hard the results are more than worth it!!!
