Sonia Clarke is a fashion and catwalk model from London who is starting to make strides in the fashion world. We were really happy at Urbanity Chic when Sonia agreed to our offer a feature model interview so that we could share her modeling showcase with you. Read on to find out about, amongst other things, how Sonia prepares for a fashion shoot, who her favourite commercial photographer is and what she does to relax when not working as a fashion model.
Q: How did you get into fashion modeling?
I started doing catwalks and meeting new people and was offered more and more work from then on.
Q: How was 2010 for you?
Great and 2011 is even better.
Q: Who inspires you?
Anna Nicole Smith
Q: Which modern day fashion designers or fashion icons do you look up to?
Diane Von Furstenberg and Marc Jacobs!
Q: Do you prefer to shoot on location or in the studio
I think you can get more out of being on location with more of a story to the photo.
Q: How do you prepare for a fashion shoot or show?
I always make sure my body is in tip top condition by moisturising and exfoliating also making sure I drink lots of water to keep my skin in the best condition it can be.
Q: Who is your favourite photographer?
I love James Hickey’s Photos they are always really fun.
Q: What does fashion mean to you
Fashion makes ladies feel good and as its always changing I love keeping upto date with fashion news.
Q: How would you define your personal style
Depends on my mood really I like to stay classy with my look. 🙂
Q: Where are you based?
Q: What’s been the highlight of your career to date.
Working on the catwalks for House of Fraser is always fun and you always meet great makeup artists.
Q: What do you do to relax?
I go to the gym and work out and always end up in the Jacuzzi.
Q: If you could give a little piece of advice for new models or aspiring models what would it be?
Don’t give up and just keep going meeting new people is the best way forward.
Q: What motivates you to do what you do?
I enjoy it and its important that you do something you have a passion for.
